| | The Norns (Fates) roam the world, homeless since the death of the World Ash-Tree to which they once tied their rope. The tree withered after Wotan tore off one of its branches to make the shaft of his spear. When the spear was cut in two by a hero, he ordered the tree to be felled and its logs piled around Valhalla. When the time comes Loge will set fire to it.
