| | Yellowman was one of the hottest toasters in Jamaican dancehalls during the 1980's. In the early 1990's he went with a mellower, slightly less controversial style. In was his rude style filled with lyrics many consider homophobic and explicitly sexist that inspired the word "slackness" as a descriptor for some of the types of dancehall music.
